Ginger Turmeric Lemonade


It’s been awhile since I’ve made this delicious drink. The best part? It’s packed full of amazing health benefits. Okay enough chit chat, let’s get down to business.


The Ingredients

  • Water (4 cups)

  • Fresh Ginger (3-4 inches): boosts digestion, breaks down toxins, improves circulation, prevents nausea, alleviates coughs, and reduces pain and cramping.

  • Fresh Turmeric (3-4 inches): reduces inflammation, purifies the blood, promotes menses, alleviates fevers, enhances complexion, reduces many chronic diseases

  • Lemon Juice (3 lemons): clears congestion, enhances vision, encourages toxin removal

  • Lemon Zest (1 lemon): improves digestion and nutrient absorption

  • Pure Cane Sugar* (1-2tb) *if substituting with honey, please wait until the drink has cooled to add it in!

The Process

  1. Chop Ginger Root and Turmeric Root into smaller pieces and prepare Lemon Juice and Zest

  2. Add all ingredients (except the fresh lemon juice!) to a pot and bring them to a boil for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent anything from sticking to (and burning) the bottom

  3. Strain out roots and lemon zest, and then allow the mixture to cook until it is a drinking temperature.

  4. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and enjoy warm, or chill and serve cold!
